The first steps in getting Business 50 upgraded have started.

Last week at the city council meeting it was announced that the city had reached a deal with the state to take over the road after utilities are upgraded and replaced and the road put back.  The state is paying for about $15 million of the over $17 million project.  Mayor Joe Wellman told us what progress has been made since the announcement…

Wellman says one of the stipulations when bids are let is that the road be kept open during work so that motorists have access to homes and businesses.
