Walter E. MacDonald, 88, of Washington, IN passed away June 4, 2017 in Evansville.

Walter was born July 21, 1928 in Queens, New York to the late Harold G. and Caroline (Wright) MacDonald.

He graduated from South High School in Worcester, MA. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief. Walter went on to earn his Chemical Engineering Degree form Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1953. He was employed by Marathon Oil Company and retired in January of 1991 after 32 years of service. He married Wanita (Winklepleck) MacDonald on April 3, 1985 in Findlay. Ohio. He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Society of Automotive Engineers, and the American Legion in Findlay, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Wanita; three Daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Duncan, Laurie (Tom) Biddle and Paula (Steve) Thomas; three Sons, Steve MacDonald, Jeff McCain, and Paul MacDonald, and several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a Brother, Harold R. MacDonald, and two Sisters, Shirley Metcalf and Marjorie MacDonald. A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 in Gill Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
