Businesses in a southern Indiana county say they have spent more than $26 million to help boost tourism this summer.

Visitors to the Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Spencer County can ride a new roller coaster called the Thunderbird that propels them from zero to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. Monkey Hollow Winery has added a new small events space while Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort has added 20 new cottages and a new camp store.

The Holiday Drive-In has added five digital projectors and Santa’sLodge is expected to add a zip line.

The Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum also will rebuild two cabins, the Comfort Inn & Suites will update its lobby and the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial plans to offer more programming.
