Joy Darlene Fields, 69, formerly of Washington, passed away Wednesday, after a five-year battle with cancer at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Joy was born Feb. 27, 1946 in Washington to Pearl (Bush) and Charles Sullivan. She was graduated from Plainville School in 1964. During her life she enjoyed vacationing with her family including two Caribbean cruises. After retiring from Wal-Mart in 2008, she spent her summers in the Northwoods of Wisconsin along the river and her winters spent with family in Alabama. She always enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

Surviving are husband, Ronald Fields of Opelika, Alabama and Winter, Wisconsin; mother, Pearl Sullivan of Washington; daughter, Cara (Lars) Gregerson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; son, Donald (Rhonda) Fields of Opelika, Alabama; sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Gerber of Evansville, and Connie Potts of Milton, Florida; grandchildren Tonya (Matt) Meyers, Bailey Gregerson, Spencer Gregerson, Kiri Fields, and Nick Fields; great-grandchildren, Ella, Chance, Gavin, and Graham.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Funeral services will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington. The burial will follow at Plainville Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 p.m.  to 8 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary and also Sunday from noon until the time of the service.
