A Jasper man has been arrested in connection with a vandalism incident at the Jasper Public Library earlier this month. Police say 22-year-old Deontae T. Wigodinski was taken into custody Monday afternoon at a residence on North Portersville Road. The arrest stems from an early morning incident on May 6, when two windows at the library were reportedly shattered, with additional damage attempted. Investigators believe Wigodinski later disposed of clothing connected to the incident and provided false information when initially questioned by officers. He was transported to the Dubois County Security Center and is facing preliminary charges of obstruction of justice, criminal mischief, and false informing. Authorities thanked members of the public who provided information during the investigation.
