Jeneva Sue Collins, 83, of Odon, passed away Monday at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1931, in Daviess County to Russell Vernal and Achie Dee (Blagraves) Pershing. On April 1, 1950, Jeneva became the wife of James H. Collins.

Jeneva lived her life as a homemaker, farmer, and caregiver. She was a member of the Odon First United Methodist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed horseback riding and truly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Vonda (Terry) Christenberry of Odon; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Collins of Odon;  four grandchildren, Scott Collins, Joshua Christenberry, Adam Christenberry and Dustin Collins;  five great-grandchildren, Parker, Kenslee, Collin, Owen and Aaron; a sister, Eve Dee (Gene) Horning of Odon; a brother, Joe A. Pershing of Elnora; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Kenneth Collins, a brother, James E. Pershing, three sisters, Virginia Melton, Bonnie Stuffel, Tobita Pershing and an infant sibling.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Odon First Christian Church with James N. Melton officiating. Jeneva will be laid to rest in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Friends and family may call at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  prior to the service.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Jeneva to the IU Medical Center for Gerstmann Straussler-Scheinker Syndrome. Envelopes will be available at the church.
