A traffic stop in Daviess County Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a man on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine with a firearm. Indiana State Police say Master Trooper Jarrod Lents stopped a pickup truck for speeding on U.S. 50 near Montgomery around 7:30 a.m. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Marco Antonio Ortiz Lopez of Mexico, was found to have never been issued a driver’s license in the United States. During a search, troopers say suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia were found on Ortiz Lopez. An inventory of the vehicle also revealed a handgun. Ortiz Lopez was taken to the Daviess County Jail and faces preliminary charges including possession of methamphetamine with a firearm, possession of a firearm by an alien, operating without a license, and possession of paraphernalia. All charges are preliminary, and the case remains under investigation.
