Two public hearings are scheduled for Monday, April 27 in Washington to address city financial matters. The hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue. The first hearing will focus on an ordinance related to additional appropriations, while the second—held immediately following—will address proposed electric utility rate changes. City officials encourage residents to attend and provide input on both items before they move forward in the approval process.
A Washington Common Council meeting will follow the hearings, where council members are expected to take action on several ordinances, including updates to city code, additional appropriations, and electric utility rates. An ordinance related to animal control fees will also be introduced.
Following the council meeting, the Board of Public Works and Safety will meet to consider requests including a Fourth of July parade, a temporary Main Street closure for a community event, and other city business.
City officials encourage residents to attend the hearings and provide input on the proposed measures.
