School Corp. gets signatures needed for referendum

          The Washington Community School Corporation has gotten the 500-plus signatures needed to get a referendum on the November ballot concerning their proposed building project.

        A 34 million dollar middle school for grades 5 to 8 is being planned on recently purchased ground to alleviate overcrowding and to prepare for expected future growth.  Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Dan Roach..

        The referendum in November will decide if school patrons are in favor of a tax increase to help fund the project.

        The next step is to have the names on the petitions verified by the courthouse as school district residents and taxpayers.
