Bobbitt said criteria to be considered for the honor included years of residency, community activities, recognition, achievement and areas of specialization. Candidates also had to be nominated by members of the community. Some of the torch bearers nominated were Travis Burkhart, Dan Murrie, Beth Gabhart and Dale Barber. The torch will pass through the county quite quickly. Bobbitt says all 42 miles will be done in 2.5 hours – from 1 – 3:30p.m. A number of activities are being planned in conjunction with the Bicentennial Torch’s arrival.
