Loogootee Mayor Brian Ader released a video providing an update on several projects and improvements underway across the city. Ader says new exercise equipment has been installed at City Park, with eight pieces now in place. Crews are finishing work by adding stone or pea gravel around the area, and the space is expected to open to the public within the next week. He reminded residents to use the equipment safely and at their own risk. Work is also nearing completion on the city’s water tower, where new lettering is currently being added. Ader noted the project includes interior maintenance that should help resolve past issues with temporary water discoloration caused by iron buildup in the tank. Looking ahead, the mayor says Summerfest is scheduled for the third week of June. In addition, street work is expected to begin after the school year ends, with crews planning to mill and repave several roads throughout the city. Some sidewalk work and tree removal are also planned to improve road conditions. Ader is asking residents to be patient and cautious in construction zones as the projects move forward.
