Motorists who travel 257 in Pike County are reminded that starting on Wednesday; the highway will be closed between State Roads 56 and 64 for multiple pipe replacement operations.
Work is set to start in the morning after school buses have run and will be done each day before the afternoon school bus runs. Crews will dig out drainage structures and replace old pipes and fill in pavement cuts with gravel and a few days later permanently repair the pavement cuts.
The work will last from Wednesday through Friday next week. Local traffic will have access to the point of closure. The official detour is State Roads 56, 61 and 64.
