Geneva Joyce (Atchley) Meador age 89, of Shoals, passed away at her residence on the evening of June 30, 2018. She was born on March 1, 1929 in Oak Grove, Arkansas to Raymon and Bessie (Minick) Atchley. She married L.F. Meador on August 6, 1950 in Green Forest, Arkansas and he survives.

She was a teacher in Trinity Springs, a substitute teacher for Shoals Community Schools and in her later years was a homemaker. She was the founder of the Shoals Baptist Church where she served as church pianist. She was also a charter member of the 1st Baptist Church in Jasper.

Survivors include, her husband, one son Raymon Meador and wife Kathy of Milltown; one daughter Betty Lindauer and husband Jeff of Jasper; one brother Norman Glen Atchley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister Ramona Nance of Green Forest, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Robert (Ashley) Stevens, Angela (Chad) Vogler, Shane Leinenbach, Justin (Courtney) Leinenbach, Raymon (Ashlee) Meador Jr and Nicole (Dusty) Arney. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee with Pastor Jim Lilly officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8p.m. at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals. Services will be conducted at the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Green Forest Arkansas.
