Local firemen were busy over the weekend

 

-The Washington Township Fire Department requested assistance from Washington City and Veale Township in a structure fire at 2920 Old US Highway 50. When firefighters arrived after being dispatched, logs state the first floor and part of the 2nd floor were totally engulfed.  The call went out at 5:24pm Saturday and crews were on scene until nearly 11-pm.  The home was totally destroyed.  There were no injuries.

-Washington City Firefighters were called to a fire at a camper parked at a home on Oak Grove Road. The call came in just after midnight Saturday…according to Washington Fire Chief Dave Rhoads.  Firemen were on the scene until after 3-am. There were no injuries and the cause is undetermined.

-A family escaped a house fire on Main Street Road in Vincennes this weekend.  The home was said to have major damage due to the early Saturday morning blaze.
