The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is asking for the public’s help as investigators look into three residential fires reported Monday evening in Washington. According to officials, firefighters first responded around 5:15 p.m. to a mobile home fire in the 300 block of Cable Avenue. Crews were then dispatched at 6 p.m. to another mobile home fire in the 500 block of Vine Street, followed by a third fire at a home under construction on Bent Avenue at approximately 6:15 p.m. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fires. Due to the close timing and location of the incidents, officials are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to contact the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1-800-382-4628. Tips can remain anonymous, and a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
