Ronald A. Arvin, 73, of Washington, IN passed away at his home on Sunday morning, September 6th, at 2:00 A.M.
Ron, son of Earl and Dovie Arvin , was born in Gallup, New Mexico on October 4, 1941. He was married to Judith Remmel Daniszewski on July 27, 1979 and they raised Ron’s son Ronnie, and Judy’s daughter Lisa.
Ron graduated from WHS in 1960 then served in the U.S Army from 1960 to 1963. He began his career in plumbing, heating, and air conditioning in Durango, Colorado, then moved back to Washington and began working at Greenwoods before starting his own business, Arvin’s Plumbing, Heating, Air Condition & Excavating in 1969.
He was a member of Aikman Creek Baptist Church and a member of Glendale Masonic Lodge #461. When time permitted, Ron enjoyed horseback riding and riding four wheelers with his family and vacationing in the South and West. During one particular vacation, he met Roy Rogers and did some plumbing for him. On a trip through Tennessee he met Loretta Lynn and did some plumbing at her ranch.
Ron especially enjoyed visiting with his neighbors in the Cumback area.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judy, six children by his first wife Linda Wilson; Tammy Gordon (Todd), Rhonda Gorrell (Kris), Becky Woods (Bobby), Ronnie Arvin (Beth), Rachel Cherry (Daniel), Donnie Arvin (Mardine), and one step-daughter, Lisa Daniszewski, sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one step- granddaughter Marina Daniszewski, three sisters Imogene Baldrich, Joan Lee, Brenda Mattingly (Mike), and one brother Jack Arvin.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Randall Arvin, his mother and father, one sister Rita Jenkins, and two brothers Don and Darrell Arvin.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Gill Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Ron Raymond officiating.
