Emergency personnel were called to to an accident scene at 57 and Cumberland Drive near Wal-Mart south of Washington at 1:14-pm yesterday. 80 year old Robert McCauley of Montgomery was north in the left turn lane on 57 with a yellow flashing light. 39-year-old Robert Johnson was south and had a green light.
Accident reports say McCauley proceeded into the intersection failing to yield and the collision occurred McCauley’s vehicle then hit a vehicle at a red light in the left turn lane on Cumberland Drive on the Wal-Mart side. That vehicle was driven by 65-year-old Arlen Allen of Washington. McCauley was transported to DCH with injuries sustained by the airbag in his truck. Allen and Johnson signed medical statements of release at the scene.
