A Pike County man is facing charges following a reported domestic incident involving a child witness. According to the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office, 47-year-old Michael Edward Gray of Petersburg has been charged with Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child Less Than 16 Years of Age, a Level 6 felony, along with a Class A misdemeanor count of domestic battery. Authorities say deputies were dispatched to a home on North Frederick Lane in Petersburg around 7:44 p.m. on April 28 in response to a report of a domestic disturbance. During the investigation, Gray is accused of grabbing an adult female by the neck and throwing her to the ground onto rocks. Officials say a child was present and witnessed the incident. Gray was arrested at the scene and taken to the Pike County Security Center. The Indiana Department of Child Services was also notified. Officials remind the public that all charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
