The Pike County Economic Growth and Development Council and the Town of Winslow are working to secure a federal grant to improve the town’s water infrastructure. Officials plan to apply for funding through the U.S. Economic Development Administration, following approval from the Winslow Town Council. The project is supported by a Professional Engineer’s Report that outlines proposed improvements, construction plans, and cost estimates. Pike County EDC Executive Director Ashley Willis said the application is being prepared with assistance from the Region 15 Planning Commission and will include letters of support from local officials, businesses, and community leaders. The application is expected to be submitted in April, with a funding decision potentially taking up to six months.
