The boil water advisory for customers served by Vincennes Water Utilities, Knox County Water Department and Bruceville Water Utility has been lifted. Officials say follow-up testing found no presence of E. coli in the water system after additional samples were taken at previously affected locations. The results confirm the water now meets all state and federal safety standards. Authorities believe the earlier positive test results were likely due to a sampling or laboratory error, not actual contamination. Customers can now resume normal water use, including drinking, cooking and brushing teeth. Officials thank residents for their patience during the advisory.
