The Pike County community is coming together on Saturday for a benefit for a local Pike County girl who is recovering after receiving a new heart. After five months of waiting at Riley Hospital for Children, Amelia “Millie” Modesitt received her hero heart on Feb. 13th. The 9-year-old daughter of Mitch and Candra Modesitt continues to recover but continues her journey with medical bills and continued care. On Saturday, Friends of the Modesitt family are hosting a benefit and silent auction for Millie and her family. All proceeds will go directly towards medical expenses, travel expenses, and the many challenges that come with being hospital-bound for the months she has been. The benefit and auction will be Saturday at the Otwell Community Center starting at 9:00 a.m. and will offer live local music along with food and drink vendors and the silent auction. The event runs all day. For more details, visit Millie’s Big Heart Benefit and Silent Auction Facebook page. Come out and enjoy the day and help out this amazing Pike County family.
