The Reds entered Wednesday night looking to continue their streak of being the only team in Major League Baseball to not be swept in a series this season. Christian Encarnacion-Strand’s grand slam over the Green Monster erased the 3-0 deficit and gave the Reds 4-3 lead and shifted entire momentum of the game.

Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Dansby Swanson each had two hits for the north siders.
Reds are in Philadelphia for the holiday weekend and the Cubs and Cards get together in the friendly confines.
Fever star Caitlin Clark ruled out for tonights game vs. the Las Vegas Aces with groin injury, marking 4th straight missed game. She will continue to be day to day.

The New York Knicks are closing in on hiring Mike Brown as head coach. The move comes a little over a month after they fired Tom Thibodeau following the team’s most-successful season in 25 years. Brown most recently led the Sacramento Kings for two-plus seasons and signed a three-year contract extension in June 2024. After a 13-18 start last season, the Kings fired Brown in December.
TENNIS
The upsets keep coming at Wimbledon, one month after winning her first French Open title, world #2 Coco Gauff will not be doing the same at Wimbledon. Gauff was rattled in Wimbledon first round, falling to unranked Dayana Yastremska in straight sets. Also Kamilla Rakhimova defeated world No. 4 Jasmine Paolini.
Upset on the men’s side as well as American Frances Tiafoe added his name to the list of disappointing performers after a loss to Cameron Norrie on Tuesday.
