There was no disagreement this time. A jury yesterday convicted an Evansville man of murder for the death of his three-year-old son. Jacob Bengert’s first trial last month ended with a mistrial. Yesterday, a jury found him guilty of beating the little boy to death back in January. The boy’s mother, 32-year-old Chelsea Marksberry, is also facing charges and a trial early next year. Bengert will be sentenced in about two weeks.
