Hoosiers help dine-in bans

Many Hoosiers are coming to the aid of their favorite local restaurants.

A statewide ban of dining-in at restaurants is meant to prevent the spread of coronavirus, but has also left many local restaurant employees out of work. One idea to help local cooks and cashiers is a “virtual tip jar” using the Venmo mobile payment app. Over 2,000 out of work restaurant employees have added their names to the “Indy Service Workers Venmo List” Google Doc. Those who have felt personally impacted by their local restaurant can show their appreciation by sending money to the employees’ accounts.
