Deputy saves choking child

        A Daviess County Deputy is being give accolades for saving a child’s life.

        According to a post on the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, Deputy Justin Williams was waived down by a woman who was driving with her son whom she noticed was choking.  She pulled over, saw Williams in his patrol car and waived at him. Williams stopped and performed the Heimlich Maneuver dislodging a piece of candy in the boys throat.

        The incident after being reported by the boy’s mother on the Facebook page, has been featured in stories Chanel 10 and the Washington Times Herald.
