Man Shoots Self in Police Standoff and Survives

A man shot himself in the head, but is still alive after a long standoff with Terre Haute Police Sunday night. WTHI reports 29-year-old Ronald Norton Jr. was suspected of robbing a house. Police pulled him over and that’s when he pulled out a pistol and pointed it to his head. The standoff lasted for hours with neighbors and police officers trying to talk Norton down, but he shot himself in the head. He was taken to the hospital. Norton was wanted on charges of felony burglary, criminal recklessness, possession of meth, and auto theft. The situation is still under investigation.
