VU Scholarships Awarded to Area Students

The Vincennes University Foundation’s Polk-Decker Scholarship Committee has announced the recipients of its respected Polk-Decker Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.  The recipients are Dillon Byrer of Edwardsport, Taylor Hankins of Oaktown, and Michael Keyes,
Nathan Sievers, and Tanner Thomas of Vincennes. The scholarships were made possible by the late Helen Polk-Decker of Vincennes.  The scholarships assure each recipient of funds for college tuition, fees, and books for higher education studies each year for four years.

The Vincennes University Foundation has announced the recipients of the Oscar L. Dunn Memorial Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.  The recipients are Vincennes Lincoln High School graduates Braeden Field, Aaron Kelly, and Marisa McCarter, all of Vincennes.

Oscar L. Dunn was a dedicated teacher, educator, and humanitarian.  He taught mathematics and music to generations of Vincennes Lincoln High School and Vincennes University students.  The scholarship was established in his memory to offer assistance to qualified students graduating from Vincennes Lincoln High School attending Vincennes University for the purpose of pursuing a higher education.

Recipients are selected on the basis of their scholastic record and/or financial circumstances by the Oscar L. Dunn Scholarship Committee.  The scholarships are for two years, provided the students maintain the required academic credentials.
