The National Day of Prayer is held on the first Thursday of May and is a day for everyone to turn to God in prayer and meditation. The community is invited to a celebration at the Daviess County Courthouse. The celebration starts at noon on the courthouse lawn. All are invited to come out and pray with local leaders and the community. A similar program will also be held in Loogootee in the town square at noon.
