Students will be back in school at Barr Reeve August 11th.
At Tuesday night’s school board meeting, Superintendent Travis Madison was quoted by the Washington Times Herald as saying that families should see more details next month for back to school in our post pandemic world. He says that the Stem and Technology Department is working on a learning academy plan for those not comfortable being in a traditional setting.
Madison also said that because school was closed in the middle of last semester, the cafeteria is short on money. A transfer of $50,000 was approved to cover wages and benefits of food service employees. The newspaper reports that lunch prices were raised a bit with student lunces going to $2.70 and adults at $3.50. Breakfast is 1.50 for students and 1.80 for adults.
