The Washington City Council has voted to waive any late fees on late utility bill payments for bills issued between March 10 and the end of the State of Emergency. According to Governor Holcomb’s latest memorandum, the State of Emergency in Indiana could be lifted around June 4. The Mayor told the Council that there have only been a few bills not paid on time and that Municipal Utility collections have been steady.
In other action, the Council passed two housekeeping resolutions that transferred funds. One transfer moved unspent funds in a Street Department account to a fund where they could be used as match money for upcoming projects. The second was to transfer money from an unused account to the General Fund, so the unused account could be closed out.
