The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an emergency road closure on State Road 164 in Dubois County.
Beginning immediately, INDOT Crews have closed S.R. 164 between 3rd Avenue in Jasper and the intersection of S.R. 545. This closure follows a pipe failure Sunday afternoon at the 3.8 mile marker. Crews will be on site on Monday morning, May 4, to replace the structure and expect to be finished by later that afternoon depending upon weather conditions.
Until the pipe is replaced, the road will remain closed around the clock. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. All other traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 545, S.R. 56, and U.S. 231. INDOT urges motorists to slow down and stay alert near crews.
