Barr Reeve Schools plans to add a referendum to the May Primary Election ballot for school patrons in the district to vote on a maximum tax levy of 25 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.

The Washington Times Herald reports the levy, if approved by voters, would go into effect just as a 35 cent levy approved 7 years ago in a referendum expires.  The extra funds will be used to continue to offer programs, and keep class sizes small without making cuts in the district which continues to see growth, a lot of which is due to transfer students.  There were 262 students from other schools transferring to Barr Reeve in the 2019-2020 school year according to the newspaper.

A work session is set for tonight at 6-pm which the public can attend to ask questions and get more information. The session will be held at the Barr Reeve School Cafeteria.
