North Daviess Community Schools Highlights Student Achievements and Facility Updates at School Board Meeting

North Daviess Community Schools highlighted a wide range of student achievements, staffing updates and facility projects during its May 18 school board meeting. According to a meeting recap released by the corporation, students were recognized for accomplishments in band, FFA, Super Bowl, Math Bowl and Language Bowl competitions. The district also highlighted several end-of-year activities, including kindergarten Kentucky Derby parades, internet safety programming for sixth graders and upcoming senior walkthroughs at elementary schools. School officials also announced the retirements of longtime teachers John Mokris and Ronetta Bough while approving summer school staff, summer painting crews and coaching recommendations for the 2026-27 school year. Additional updates included progress on roof projects, new transportation additions, upcoming elementary painting projects and the corporation’s continued Chromebook transition initiative, which officials say is projected to save $500,000 over six years.
