Vincennes Police Investigate Vehicle Thefts, Make Arrest

Vincennes Police are alerting the public to recent vehicle theft activity and have made an arrest connected to one of the cases. According to the Vincennes Police Department, three vehicles were reported stolen between May 3 and May 7. Two thefts occurred in the Brenda Drive area, while another was reported near 12th and Shelby Streets. Police say an arrest was made on the morning of May 7. Around 9:00 a.m., an officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of a reported stolen car on Washington Avenue. When officers attempted to make contact, the driver fled on foot through the Indian Mound Apartments area before being taken into custody. Authorities identified the suspect as 19-year-old David Seth Sutton, who was taken to the Knox County Jail on preliminary charges of theft and resisting law enforcement. Police continue to encourage residents to take precautions such as locking vehicles, removing keys, and reporting suspicious activity. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Knox County Central Dispatch or submit an anonymous tip.
