A Washington man is facing a felony charge following a late-night traffic stop in Daviess County. Indiana State Police say Trooper Dakota Hatton stopped a vehicle Sunday night near 3rd and Main streets in Washington for an equipment violation. During the stop, the driver, identified as 20-year-old Donovan Rivera, showed signs of impairment. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered suspected marijuana. Rivera was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for a chemical test and later transported to the Daviess County Jail. Authorities say Rivera faces a Level 6 felony charge of operating while intoxicated due to a prior conviction, along with a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. A passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Maria Wolven of Washington, was cited and released for possession of marijuana. Washington Police assisted in the investigation. All charges are preliminary, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
