Debra “Debbie” Lucille Smith, 71, of Bedford, Indiana and formerly of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 18, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on November 26, 1954, in Shoals, Indiana to Harry and Violet (Holt) Jones.
Debbie loved sitting on the front porch enjoying the sunshine and coffee and visiting with her neighbors, and her beloved dog “Duke”. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Debbie loved to go to yard sales and garden, growing beautiful flowers. She ran the South Side Tavern in Loogootee, Indiana for over 20 years.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Violet Jones, her son, Ritchie Sheets, her grandson, Jacob Waylin, her siblings, Gene, Donna, Connie, Sandy, and Kenny.
She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Trambaugh and Diana (Terry) England, her grandchildren, Brandon Trambaugh, Colin (Sierra) Clingerman, Dyson (Aliva) Clingerman, Alexis (Terry Chism) England, Dillon (Kristen) England, her great- grandchildren, Zaeleigh Wyman, Alyssa Clingerman, Brynlee Clingerman, Jacob Whalin, Elaina England, Avian Chism, her siblings, Judy Wilson, Ronnie Jones, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen according to her wishes; a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 16, 2026 from 12:00 P.M until 5:00 P.M at the American Legion Country Club in Loogootee, Indiana.
