
Emergency crews responded to a controlled burn that led to heavy smoke and temporary road closures Friday afternoon in rural Daviess County. According to dispatch reports, crews were called to the area of 700 S and State Road 57 for a brush fire. The fire prompted a large response from multiple fire departments, along with requests for additional water tankers and traffic control. At one point, portions of State Road 57 near 700 South were closed to traffic due to smoke and safety concerns. Crews also coordinated with nearby agencies and utilities while working to contain the fire. The situation was brought under control later in the evening, and all units cleared the scene.
