Jacqueline M. Cooper of Petersburg, Indiana, passed peacefully on January 14, 2026, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, Indiana. Jacqueline was born on September 16, 1950, in Princeton, Indiana to the late Jack and Marie Hanks.

Jacqueline was a dog lover, and she loved to cook and read in her spare time, that is when she wasn’t spending time with her loving grandchildren. She loved the time spent with all of her family and friends. She loved them all dearly and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Lowry Cooper; her sons, Thomas (Missy) Sparks, Delbert (Shelly) Cooper; her grandchildren, Jake Cooper, Jessica (Zack) Hay, Wilton Sparks, Lindsey (Dustin) Bono, Kelly Sherman, Jeff (Brittany) Sherman, Kim Sherman, Timothy Sparks, Paige Gossman, Bode Pressley, Hattie Sparks; her three great grandchildren; and her brother John (Mary) Hanks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Marie Hanks; her brother, Jerry Boatwright; her son, John Robert Sparks; and her daughter, Kari Sherman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2026, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). A service will take place at 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) with burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana. Rev. Dale Biehl will officiate.
