Registration is now open for the 24th Annual Ferdinand Heimatfest 5K Run/Walk and Kid’s Fun Run sponsored by Best Home Furnishings. The event will take place Saturday, June 20, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern Time. Registration and sign-in will be held at the Forest Park Junior High School gym. Organizers say the 5K course will feature areas around Forest Park High School, The Monastery and Old Town Lake. The Kid’s Fun Run for children ages 12 and under will be held on the Forest Park High School track immediately following the 5K. Pre-registration for the 5K is $20 before June 12 and increases to $25 afterward. The Kid’s Fun Run is free without a shirt or $10 with a commemorative T-shirt. Awards will be presented in multiple age groups, with prize money awarded to the overall male and female winners.
