A Jasper man has been arrested following an investigation into alleged threats made against Indiana’s lieutenant governor. Indiana State Police say 24-year-old Joshua Wasson is accused of making threatening statements on social media directed at Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith. Detectives with the Jasper Post launched an investigation after being alerted to the posts. Wasson was later interviewed at his workplace, and during the investigation, troopers also located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. He was taken into custody and transported to the Dubois County Jail, where he is being held without bond. Wasson faces preliminary charges of intimidation against a public official, a Level 6 felony, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Officials say the investigation remains ongoing, and all charges are allegations pending court proceedings.
