Jasper Police Notice Increase in Juvenile Child Sex Abuse Material Cases

jasper-police-2

Jasper Police have observed a rise in cases involving Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) among juveniles. They emphasize that sending nude photographs of or to individuals under 18 is illegal, regardless of whether the sender knows the recipient. The police department is actively pursuing each case, having recently filed charges against three juveniles for CSAM-related offenses and currently investigating several others. Authorities express concern that many juveniles are unaware of the gravity of these offenses and urge parents to educate their children about the laws and consequences involved. Officials say that photos or messages sent via social media or digital devices can be retrieved, regardless of the time passed, and are crucial evidence in investigations.
