Glenn Ray Turner, aged 85, passed away with his wife by his side in Freelandville, Indiana, on January 10, 2024. Born on February 4, 1938, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to the late Lula Davis Pendergrass and Al Ray Turner, Glenn led a fulfilling and inspiring life that touched many.

 

Glenn dedicated his professional life to civil engineering, serving the State of Indiana with diligence and expertise. His commitment extended beyond his career as he actively ministered at Bruceville Christian Church, where he was also an esteemed member. His devout faith and leadership were cornerstones of the community, resonating in the Bruceville Rod and Gun Club where he was also a member.

 

Married at Mariah Creek Church on Valentine’s Day in 1960, Glenn’s love story with his wife was one for the ages. Together, they raised their children, Scott Turner of California and ChristineTurner of Florida, instilling in them the values of family and integrity.

 

An epitome of an outdoorsman, Glenn thrived in the embrace of nature. His passion for painting reflected his colorful spirit, while hunting, fishing, and shooting clay pigeons showcased his zest for life’s many adventures. Glenn relished new challenges, and his driven, vibrant spirit remained unquenched until his very last moments.

 

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Davis Pendergrass and Al Turner. His life was an embodiment of love, commitment, and resilience, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed yet celebrated for the remarkable life he so richly lived.

There will be a visitation held at Bruceville Christian Church on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with a service following, also at the church with John McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Mariah Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s memory to the Bruceville Christian Church.
