Local Woman Arrested on Drug Charges in Loogootee

On October 4, at approximately 3:10 PM, Loogootee Dispatch received a report of an unattended bag left at the CVS store in Loogootee, raising suspicions of potential drug involvement. Loogootee Chief of Police Kyle Long and Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Andrew Beaver initiated an investigation into the matter. Joanna Hurst, a Loogootee resident, was identified as the individual responsible for leaving the bag containing illegal drugs at CVS. Officers located Mrs. Hurst. They requested her consent to the search, which she granted. During the search, additional illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered.

As a result of this incident, Mrs. Hurst was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Martin County Jail. She faces a series of charges:
