Burn Ban in Martin County Effective Immediately

The Martin County Board of Commissioners has enacted a burn ban for Martin County with immediate effect. The following activities are now prohibited within the county:
Campfires and other recreational fires, except when enclosed in a fire ring.
Open burning of any kind using conventional fuel like wood or other combustible materials, with the exception of grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane,
The burning of debris, including timber, vegetation, and debris resulting from construction or windstorm damage
The use of burn barrels for open burning at residential structures
Please note that charcoal from permitted grills should not be removed until thoroughly extinguished. Additionally, personal use of fireworks is limited to those that do not leave the ground, and aerial firework devices should not be used.
