Dorothea “Jean” Williams, also known as Little Grandma and Nana, went to her heavenly home on August 16, 2023. She was born on November 13, 1924, one of seven children, to Rev. Wm. B. and Dora Jenkins in Clarksburg, West Virginia

She met her husband, Kendall, at Camp Atterbury and they married on October 13, 1943. They shared 71 years together before his passing in 2015. They were parents of four children, Rick, deceased, (Mary), Janet (deceased), Jan (Terry) Wininger and Jill Finatri.

Jean was a 1942 graduate of Manilla (Indiana) High School. She was recognized as the best dressed secretary on Main Street working for George Weaver Law Office and Weaver & Norris Law Office from 1958-1998. When she told Mr. Weaver of her plans to retire, he said he would have to retire as well because he could not practice without her! She was an avid golfer and was proud of her hole in one on #5 in 1997 at the Washington Country Club where she was a member. She was the oldest member of First Christian Church where she attended for many years. Jean was an accomplished seamstress, making most of Jan and Jill’s clothes when they were little, countless doll clothes, miles of curtains and mending many things for children and grandchildren.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory seven grandchildren-Janet DeNiro, Michael (Natalie) Williams, Erin (Aaron) Purdue, Casey (Mike) Blake, Megan (Matt) Owens, Evan Wininger (deceased) and Chad (Angi) Grannan; also fifteen great-grandchildren; Brittany DeNiro, Zivah Tryson, Maddie Server, Annie Purdue, Sara Purdue, Millie Blake, Mick Blake, Tommy Blake, Jack Evan Blake (deceased) Jenna Owens, Ben Owens, Taylor Grannan, Chloe Grannan, and Alivia and Milo Crump; her sister June Dawson and several nieces and nephews and her much loved granddog, Lucy.
