Eli Joshua Newberry went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the age of 17 in Washington, Indiana. He was born on Thursday, March 10, 2005 in Vincennes, Indiana.
Those left to cherish his memories include parents Jeremy and Miranda Newberry, two sisters Allie and Elizabeth. Grandparents include Jeff and Donna Worland, Shelia Hunnicutt. Aunts and Uncles include BJ and Stacey Worland (Cole), Ashley and Luke Blubaum (Taylor and Ellie), Lucas Worland and Kaylee Wells (Bryar, Trace and Brigston), Autumn Newberry and Jake Newberry. Special friend Pat Buntrock, along with other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Danny Newberry, step grandmother Pam Newberry, and his aunt Danielle Newberry.
Eli Joshua Newberry attended Washington High School where he would have been a senior. He was a member of the Bethany Christian Church in Washington, he is a member of the Indiana Bass Federation Youth South, Southwest Indiana Bass Club, USA Bassin, Bass Masters Nation High School Division, FFA, Twin Rivers Automotive, Graveyard Hunt Club, One Time Hunt Club and Ducks Unlimited. Eli played Tennis and Baseball for the Washington Hatchets. He was super pumped about his future at Wabash Valley Community College, where he had signed and accepted a scholarship to continue his education and fishing career. Fishing and hunting are his passions. He is very competitive when it comes to fishing tournaments. He loved his family very much and spending time with his friends was very important to him. Going hunting and fishing with his dad was one of their favorite things to do together. He loved to play tennis. Eli was always happy and had a smile on that was contagious to everyone. He had a spirit about him that was always positive. He will be deeply missed by all. Smile, laugh, and live life to the fullest.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Eli Joshua Newberry will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Bethany Christian Church in Washington, Indiana. Officiating will be Pastor Matt Merold. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 11:00 am until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Christenberry, Ryan Emmick, Hunter Walls, Sam Ausbrooks, Luke Blubaum, BJ Worland, Lucas Worland and Aaron Tinkle.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Worland and Scotty Walls.
Memorials may be made to Eli Newberry Scholarship Fund, Washington Tennis/Athletic Club or IBF South in honor of Eli.
