Albert R. Swain, 92, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1929, to the late Herman and Edith (Gilliland) Swain. On July 19, 1952, he married Barbara Joan Leighty, who preceded him in death on April 1, 2001.
Albert grew up in Petersburg, Indiana. He worked for Pepsi Cola and Amax Coal Mine and retired in 1991. He loved his family and playing country/bluegrass and gospel music. He was the Senior Indiana and Kentucky State Fiddle Champion. He loved and faithfully served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed serving at In His Image Church.
Albert is survived by his son, Bradley Swain, and daughter-in-law, Sheila Swain; grandchildren, Steven Swain, Brian and Cyndee Hale and Alicia Swain; and great-grandchildren, McKynzee and Karina Hale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan Swain; and his brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at In His Image Church, 2940 E. 50 North, Kokomo, with Pastor Brad Swain officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the church.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, July 1, 2022, at Petersburg Church of the Nazarene, 118 W. Pike Ave., Petersburg, IN 47567, with visitation from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
