Kenneth A. Eide, 77, of Petersburg, passed away May 26, 2022 at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center in Oakland City, IN. Ken was born February 3, 1945 in La Crosse, WI to Kenneth Kusserow Sr and Irene (Wolf) Kusserow. Irene later married Victor Eide who adopted Ken when he was a young child. Ken spent many of his years in Wisconsin where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising his children. He graduated from Holman High School where he played football, basketball, and track. He loved being in sports. After graduation he attended Luther College, The University of Wisconsin, and Washington School of Engineering. He moved to Indiana in 1989 and eventually working as a computer technician for Matrix Integration in Jasper for 14 years until he retired.

He and Rita (Wuertz) exchanged vows on June 7, 2003. They moved to the countryside in Petersburg where he enjoyed fishing and nature. Fishing was his passion, but he enjoyed watching deer, squirrels, rabbits, and many of God’s creatures who came to visit. He was always thrilled to see a new species of bird making their way to the feeder or nesting in one of his several bird houses. He was a member of the Glezen Revival Center in Petersburg.

Ken leaves behind his son, Kevin (Heather) Eide of Wisconsin; daughter, Krista (Eric) Engholdt of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; sisterw, Sharon (Dan) McHugh and Cindy (Lee) Ford of Iowa; significant other, Rita of Petersburg; step children, Tiffany (Les) Osborn of Petersburg, Cameron (Wendy) Fields of Florida, Shawna (Dave) Hurst of Vincennes, and Amanda (Jamie) Walls of Petersburg; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; half-sister Valerie (Jim) Voigt of Minnesota; and half-brothers, Steve (Connie) Kusserow of New Mexico and Terry (Algria) Kusserow of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy (Jim) Wescott.

Ken’s family will be having a celebration of life ceremony on June 18 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. The time will be posted at a later date and burial will take place at Sugarland Memorial Gardens in Washington, IN. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
