Betty Jean Stevens passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at her residence in Vincennes. Betty was born August 20, 1948, in Vincennes, Indiana and was the daughter of Edward “Red” Kidwell and Norma Jean (Martin) Kidwell.

Betty was retired from Edward Jones as a Business Office Administrator. She had worked for Dave Skinner for over 20 years. While at Edward Jones, she forged many friendships with her clients and had a special place in her heart for Dave. Betty was also very active in the ballet and dance world. She was a ballet teacher and ballet master for over 40 years. She worked for RayDell as she learned ballet and then started her own ballet company, Stevens Dance Studio. After 10 years, she sold her studio and continued her career coaching and teaching her students at Jean-Marie Dance Studio. She then worked with her daughter who owned T and T dance for 6 more years.  Betty not only adored her students, but they adored her as well.  After retiring, Betty started traveling the world. She traveled with her very special friends from Lawrenceville, Illinois. The time they shared on their trips were priceless. Betty also cherished her lifelong friend, Phyllis Burnett.

Survivors include her children; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hardin and husband Kurt of Vincennes, Indiana, and son Robert Edward Stevens and Meagan Luckenbill; sisters, Vicky Kidwell and Mary Lee; brothers, Bill Whipps and Denis Kidwell; Grandchildren; Brendon Hardin (Sarah), Sabastien Hardin, Torrance Hardin, Greer Hardin, Kifer Stevens, and Avery Luckenbill. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Thomas Kidwell and Rick Kidwell.

Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, Indiana. Betty’s service will be Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 with Pastor Evan Nave officiating at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home.  Online memories can be shared with Betty’s family and friends at goodwinsievers.com.
