Simon Lengacher Jr. of Loogootee, IN peacefully entered into rest on Feb. 4th, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He died of natural causes at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 2 days.

He was born on July 2, 1927 to Simon and Katie (Graber) Lengacher in Daviess County, Indiana. On April 13, 1950 he married Lydia Stoll and happily lived together for 71 years and 9 months.

Surviving is his wife Lydia (Stoll) Lengacher; his 4 children, Dorothy (Cletus) Graber of Loogootee, Raymond (Sue) Lengacher of Loogootee, Floyd (Marietta) Lengacher of Lexington Indiana, Fannie K. Schrock of Loogootee, 21 grandchildren and 74 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Katie Lengacher; 1 son-in law, J. Stephen Schrock; 4 brothers, Joe, Henry, Samuel & Menno; 7 sisters, Mary, Fannie, Katie, Rebecca, Magdalena, Martha & Maggie; 2 grandchildren Beth Ann Lengacher & Cletus Andrew Graber.

He was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive Mennonite Church of Montgomery, Indiana. He was a contractor/farmer for many years and in his retirement enjoyed working at the Dinky Auction Barn.

He will be missed by his family and friends for his pleasant disposition, fun loving ways and his love for singing.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the church, friends and all who took of their time to visit, gave assistance in caring for him and offering words of comfort and consolation.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Mt. Olive Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Mennonite Church in Montgomery.
